Who you are determines what you see. In this complete week of teaching on kingdom perspectives, Graham Jones shows that we don’t see things as they are; we see things as we are, and the key to seeing correctly is putting on the new identity God has given us. From Colossians 3, he explains that for a believer there are only two identities, the old and the new, that self-help is simply a modern form of the law, and that dying to self is not a slow daily discipline but an historical event accomplished at the cross. Through the story of the prodigal son, he shows that both brothers had perspective problems, and that many believers live in the Father’s house like pig keepers, when the Father only relates to us as sons: “Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.” Graham then gives four practical keys: ask God to show you how you see you, let Him expose and reframe the lies, receive how He sees you, and put on that person through practice. In the Q&A, he answers questions on childhood labels, renewing the mind, rejection, insecurity and fear, and on stepping into the place of the beloved.
