Prophetic processing asks what we do after we hear from God — how a word moves from the fridge door into a transformed life. Acts 2 illustrates three steps: revelation (the supernatural outpouring at Pentecost), interpretation (“What does this mean?”), and application (“What should we now do?”). The same pattern appears when Joseph receives instruction about Mary, when Peter wrestles with the sheet vision and the Gentile outpouring, and when Agabus warns Paul of chains in Jerusalem. Good revelation can be ruined by bad interpretation or poor application, as when a dream meant for Graham was spoken over another pastor, or when loving friends tried to keep Paul from God’s will. Socially respectable Christianity that rejects the baptism in the Holy Spirit and tongues is sincere but wrong. Whenever God speaks, we must rightly understand what He said before we act — or we will either stall or act amiss. Revelation, interpretation, and application belong together in the individual life and in the corporate life of the church.
