God’s promises are yes and amen in Christ, intended for us to obtain and bring Him glory. Too often we admire them from afar without possessing them. The barrier lies in the mind. Like the Israelites freed from Egypt yet still thinking as slaves, many believers carry old frameworks of fear and limitation that block entry into their promised land. Renewing the mind—metanoia—requires more than memorizing verses; it demands laying down the carnal mind, which wars against the Spirit, and putting on the mind of Christ we already possess. The ten spies saw themselves as grasshoppers because of perception, not reality. Joshua and Caleb saw victory through God’s favor. Three keys open the way: recognize lingering slave thinking, deliberately step into the mind of Christ by faith, and practice living as the new creation where old things have passed away. As a man thinks in his heart, so he is. When we think God’s thoughts and see through His lens, the promised land becomes experience, not just promise. The process involves daily practice, but the provision is already complete in Christ.
