In the second part of this series, Graham Jones gives the first five of ten keys to raising amazing children God’s way, built on Proverbs 22:6. Key one is vision: God has a glorious plan for every child, but parents often trade God’s vision for what has actually happened, knowing their children “after the flesh.” Ask God to wipe away your second-hand vision and show you His dream. Key two is love: God is love, and children long to be loved more than they long for any gadget or prestigious college. When a child knows it is loved, around 80% of its problems are solved, just as the Father declared His love for Jesus before He had preached a sermon. Key three is boundaries: clear, defined, unemotional rules, sometimes written down, so a child knows when a line has been crossed. Key four is authority: not shouting or anger, but calmly stepping into the place God has given parents, best established at a very young age. Key five is environment: church, school, friends and media shape children profoundly. Parents should choose a spiritual church for themselves and let their children see them worship God, rather than letting Egypt raise their kids.
